Resin Notebooks

I have been having SO MUCH FUN making different resin notebooks! Since I've started making and publishing journals, notebooks, planners, and coloring books on amazon, I have been wanting to find ways to incorporate some of my other hobbies in to that as well, so making unique resin notebooks seemed like a no brainer! I've just been in the practicing phase so far though, and I must say I've really enjoyed trying out different color combinations and pouring/mixing techniques!

The first one I wanted to make was a recipe notebook for my mom.... She wants to be able to compile all of her own recipes and family recipes and write them all by hand.... I can't help her with the cooking or recipe part (I'm possibly the worst cook ever) but I could help with the notebook part!

I mixed up a few different green colors for this... one dark green, a blue green, and then then a little bit of both those green and a bit of black added in as well. Then I mixed a silver white color and added some silver flakes to it!

I had to order some paper with the specific dimensions and holes needed to fit this book, as well as binder rings.

After this one was done, I was excited to try out a lot of different colors and see what else I could come up with!

The next two I got started on were very fun to make, I mixed up probably seven different colors to go in them! The one all the way on the left had some copper, a wine red, rose gold alcohol ink, dark teal, and a tiny bit of a dark plum color. The purple one.... this one has a story 🤦‍♀️

Soooo I mixed together a couple bright glow in the dark powder colors to make the bright purple that's in the corder, then added in some darker red and blues to make the indigo color going through the middle. I also made a silver white color that I mixed dried flower petals into, and then some rose gold alcohol ink. I LOVED how it was looking, so as soon I was done pouring the resin, I wanted to get a picture of it..... The light in the room kept making a glare over it though, so I had to get my phone right above it in order to get a good picture. BUT OF COURSE my clumsiness came out of nowhere and I dropped my phone face down into the wet resin.... If you don't know much about resin, it's not the kind of thing you want to get on anything else besides the molds and the workspace, it can do some serious damage. So I really quickly got my phone out and rushed to try and clean it off, and thankfully my phone case protected my phone from any resin getting in the ports and button areas, but I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to salvage the case. If you look up "how to get resin off of phone" the first things that come up are "fails of people dropping their phones in resin"...... yep, that was me 🤦‍♀️ Thankfully I am someone that can laugh at myself and move on, but I was worried about how the purple notebook would turn out! It actually came out amazing, and it's probably my favorite one!

I had to do the front cover and the back cover on different days since I was using the same mold, so they did turn out a little different from each other with slightly varying colors, but I love it!

The blue one is the same smaller size as the purple one. I used a few different blue colors as well as a white silver with silver flakes added in.

And again, the front cover and back cover have slightly different designs and colors, the back ones or this blue notebook has more of a vibrant blue!

Can't wait to make more of these!
